1 Nephi 6:4

4  For the fulness of mine intent is that I may apersuade men to bcome unto the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, and be saved.
     “fullness of mine intent”
-it is always nice to know the motives that drive a person to act or do certain things. Nephi is explicit.  We can know that all is done, all is written with the sole purpose of bringing us to God.

“mine intent is .. (to) persuade men to come unto God…”
-the Book of Mormon is ultimately designed for this singular end.  We may read it for history or to “prove” our doctrines/beliefs or for a number of other reasons, but primarily we need to read it to come closer to God.

       “to come”
-Nephi knew where he stood in his obedience to God and he, therefore, tells us to “come”.  He does not say “go unto God”.  Nephi is near to the Lord, a location we need to travel toward.
