1 Nephi 5:21

21  And we had obtained the records which the Lord had commanded us, and searched them and found that they were desirable; yea, even of great ^aworth unto us, insomuch that we could ^bpreserve the commandments of the Lord unto our children.

     “even of great worth… that we could preserve the commandments unto our children.”

            -if for no other reason, the scriptures are vitally important in their role of teaching the next generations the commandments, ways and nature of God.  Do we recognize their value to do this?  Do we use them sufficiently to do this?
