is a big thing to God. This has an
allusion to the temple, to our ancestors and to the sealing power. It is important, obviously, for us to be
connected to our past. We know, also
that the plates of brass also contained the teachings of the prophets to
Isreal. It was therefore a record of
personal genealogy but also a record of a societal lineage. Most importantly, it is a record describing
our Heavenly Father’s dealings with his children. In this way it is a record of eternal
genealogy: a record that establishes our
heavenly or divine origin.
