1 Nephi 2:24

24  And if it so be that they rebel against me, they shall be a ascourge unto thy seed, to bstir them up in the ways of remembrance.
-how ominous was this repeated and specific warning to Nephi.  Did he have a vision to see that generations of his posterity would imitate his wayward brothers rather than following his own example?

“they shall be a scourge unto thy seed, to stir them up in… remembrance.”
-God is so great!  He is able to use a bad situation (in this case, wicked people) as a tool toward His objectives.  He can turn bad behaviors, conditions and circumstances into goodness.  Evil and wickedness have no sustainability or permanence.  They will grow until they utterly destroy/consume themselves, leaving a fertile ground for truth.

End of revelation comprising verses 19 - 24:
-notice that nowhere in this revelation was Nephi told to step beyond the boundary of his
stewardship (or provided information additional to what Lehi was given).  Lehi was the
patriarch to receive revelation for the family.
