1 Nephi 3:1

1  AND it came to pass that I, Nephi, returned from ^aspeaking with the Lord, to the tent of my father.

-The revelation was received and concluded… and a very important principle taught:  No where in the revelation was Nephi given instruction that was rightfully the patriarch of the family’s domain.  He was never led, nor did he assume the opportunity, to step over the bounds of his stewardship and infringe on his father’s.  Lehi was, at or near the same moment, receiving the “next steps” of instruction that was pertinent to the family.  See verse 2.
