"...his soul did rejoice..."
-this is curious behavior in
light of the terrible things he was seeing:
the destruction of Jerusalem, the murder of his countryman, the apostasy
of Israel, etc. This naturally begs the
question: Why was Lehi moved to rejoice?
-why did he rejoice after viewing
the destruction of Jerusalem? He must
have seen more and understood the big picture (verse 14). Lehi was coming to know the goodness and
mysteries of God.
